IX Transit

The Cyprus Internet Exchange (CyIX) is an Internet exchange point that was created in 1999 by the Cyprus Institute of Technology and three founding members Cytanet, LogosNet and CyLink.  CyIX has been hosted in CYNET (Cyprus Research and Education Network) premises for over a decade. CYNET is the NREN (National Research & Education Network) of CyIX Transit is a service that enables to connect to members of Cyprus Internet Exchange through our network and benefit from cost, latency, and bandwidth. Via partnerships, we can provide access to all major global Internet Exchanges via a single port. We have established over 100 BGP sessions and are exchanging traffic with almost 1000 Tier2 and Tier1 ISPs that actually provide over 250,000 prefixes, and effectively over 80% of traffic is going via peering links.
